Yo, I’m Marco, just a normal guy from Sydney, Australia, but a normal guy who was sick of the ‘normal stuff.’ In 2019, after running a business for seven years, I had lost the passion for it, so I started planning my around-the-world trip. I didn’t know where I wanted to go or what exactly I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to get out of here.
2020 hit, and it was the big year I had been planning for … however, COVID hit! Being in Sydney, we had some of the strictest lockdowns in the world. I used to question whether I had lived my life to the fullest or really been doing what I wanted. The answer was no.
After seeing a couple of travelers on YouTube living their lives and being in countries that were not as strict while I was stuck in my bedroom, I decided to put everything into planning this trip, and I decided I was going to document the entire journey and post it on YouTube.
After living my entire life in the Sydney region and only knowing what I knew from the mainstream media and whatever popped up online, I was painted a picture of this world that it is meant to be a ‘dark and scary place’ and that Australia is the best and safest country in the world. I decided I wanted to challenge these views and experience everything for myself.
I am always someone who’s been a free spirit and a bit of a lone wolf, doing my own things as opposed to being in a group setting, and that’s why I wanted to do this journey solo.
